Senior Clinical Informatics Data Scientist

Truveta was born in the Pacific Northwest, but we have employees who live across the country. Our team enjoys the flexibility of a hybrid model and working from anywhere. In person attendance is required for two weeks during the year for Truveta Planning Weeks.
For overall team productivity, we optimize meeting hours in the pacific time zone. We avoid scheduling recurring meetings that start after 3pm PT, however, ad hoc meetings occur between 8am-6pm Pacific time.

This Opportunity
On our team, you will work with a world-class team of engineers, clinicians, and product leaders to build the foundations of the Truveta research platform and have a fundamental role in ensuring the highest data quality. We are seeking individuals who seek to combine their strong technical, analytical and creative skills to drive the clinical informatics organization forward.
In this role you will:
- Perform queries and complex data analyses over clinical data to address a wide variety of use-cases ranging from defining and characterizing cohorts, to assessing evidence and data quality.
- Collaborate closely with Clinical Informaticists to understand clinical use cases data reporting needs, translating business requirements into meaningful datasets that can provide actionable insights
- Build actionable reports, dashboards, and other outputs to stakeholders
- Develop tools and processes for optimizing reporting strategies within the clinical informatics organization
- Collaborate across multi-functional teams to understand business requirements and translate to optimal analytics output
The ideal candidate would:
- Be motivated by working in a fast-paced and extremely multidisciplinary environment
- Have the ability to investigate, experiment, and realize tools that scale development with the ultimate goal of taking projects from start to finish
- Posses strong documentation, communication, and organizational skills with meticulous attention to detail and unyielding curiosity
Key Qualifications
- Bachelor’s or higher degree supplemented by training. Clinical education a plus
- 5+ years of experience in analytic and statistical reporting. Experience with healthcare data is preferred
- Fluency in SQL required as well as strong background in analytic languages (e.g R, Python)
- Familiarity with using and developing SDKs, APIs, and utility libraries
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with business intelligence tools (e.g Power BI, Tableau) is preferred
- Prior experience working with EHR vendor data stores (e.g Cerner, Allscripts, Epic) and knowledge of underlying clinical data model preferred
- Experience in working with clinical ontologies (SNOMED, RxNorm, ICD-10, LOINC, etc...) and health interoperability standards (HL7, FHIR, USCDI) preferred

- The base pay for this position is $154,000 to $189,000. The pay range reflects the minimum and maximum target. Pay is based on several factors including location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional compensation such as incentive pay and stock options.
