Description

The position has primary responsibility for developing and managing customer relationships involving innovative power and sustainability solutions. As a commercial deal manager you will act as the face to our external wholesale power partners and customers as we grow our business value through compelling deal structures.

You will be responsible for driving business growth, including the contracting for battery storage tolling agreements and renewables off-take contracts. You will build a network of contacts to attract new clients and drive market expansion.

Responsibilities

    • Contribute to the delivery of profitable commercial transactions related to energy storage in the North American market.
    • Seek out and obtain valuable relationships for Gridmatic that span battery storage and renewables. Identify market opportunities through meetings, networking and other channels. Identify and contact decision-makers, screen potential business opportunities, select deals in line with strategies, and facilitate pitch logistics. 
    • Lead cross-functional deal teams in closing complex commercial transactions. 
    • Write business proposals, respond to RFPs, and draft, review, and negotiate contracts.
    • Support deal structure and pricing with business-value analysis, and negotiate prices for proactive bids and proposals. 
    • Monitor and evaluate industry trends and customer drivers, and meet regularly with managers and stakeholders to discuss strategy. 
    • Collaborate with the team to craft messaging and market positioning. 
    • Develop growth strategies and plans. Prepare development plans and forecast sales projections. 
    • Represent Gridmatic at events such as exhibitions and conferences. 
    • Strong understanding of company technology, power sector regulatory and legal frameworks, as well as business position and competitive landscape.

Qualifications

    • 3 - 5 years of experience in energy storage business development. 
    • Minimum 2 years of direct commercial work experience in the power markets in the U.S. is required with a proven history of executing successful transactions or supporting major transactions with customers in the wholesale space. 
    • Battery energy storage and renewable energy development experience or contracting. 
    • Knowledge of power and environmental products markets. Understanding of relevant RTO’s or bi-lateral market concepts. Knowledge of ERCOT and CAISO markets is a plus. 
    • Must be self-motivated and capable of setting and executing strategy to accomplish goals. Proven experience in developing client relationships. 
    • Experience working to and exceeding targets. 
    • Some travel required to interface with customers. 
    • Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis.
$188,000 - $240,000 a year
