The RoleWorking in a multi-disciplinary, inclusive and expanding team, you will be using innovative tech and solutions to help us achieve fast growth. Whilst using and expanding your expertise, you will have the opportunity to have real impact on the planet and the product.

More specifically you have:

  • Strong problem solving and analytical skills. Our product is at an early stage with lots of abstract questions to understand and resolve.
  • Experience designing GraphQL, REST and websockets APIs in Node, both for private and exposed APIs.
  • Experience scaling Postgres, optimizing tables, queries and data models.
  • Experience with caching, security, setting up CI pipelines for automated testing and deployment
  • Experience scaling applications and infrastructure to support high growth (Docker, Kubernetes, AWS)
  • Experience defining the architecture and creation of micro services.
  • Experience with TDD / automated testing.
  • Built SaaS products, preferably at a startup.
  • Pro: contributed to open source or have developed your own projects.
  • Bachelor's degree in a highly quantitative field (Computer Science, Engineering, Machine Learning, Operational Research, Statistics, Mathematics, etc.) or equivalent professional experience.

What role involves:

  • Take ownership and implement new features and improvements.
  • Help with architectural and infrastructure decisions and explore new technologies to make sure our app keeps working smoothly while scaling up fast.
  • Develop and use innovates solutions and technologies to crunch divers and sometimes massive datasets into meaningful numbers for customers.
  • Write tests and robust code.
  • Collaborate to build a fun culture of engineering excellence that executes quickly and safely through fast iteration, clean code, and high-quality development.
  • Actively contribute to fighting climate change and make the world a better place.

Who Can Apply?

  • This is a remote-first role - so global applicants are welcome, but please keep in mind that we work on the GMT timezone.
  • We are unable to sponsor visas to the UK at the moment, but we will cover any costs related to a co-working space in a remote location.
  • If you are a refugee displaced by war in the past 6 months (e.g. in Ukraine, Afghanistan, Yemen or elsewhere), we will add a signing bonus to help with resettlement in a safe place (between 10-20% of the first year salary, depending on the market compensation of the role).
  • Moreover:
    • We will not distinguish between UK based salary levels and non UK locations.
    • We will offer full employment arrangements not short term contracts.
    • We will cover any costs related to a co-working space in a remote location (e.g., for refugees in Poland).
    • We will cover any intermediary costs for managing a non UK employment contract.
