Our mission is to move humanity off of fossil fuel heating. 20% of US global warming emissions come from homes (that’s more than cars!). The largest driver of home emissions is burning fossil fuels for heat. To stop climate change, over 80M US homes need to transition from combustion to efficient, electric heat pumps over the coming decades.

We believe for this to happen the world needs fantastic products that are easy to purchase. Today's heat pumps lack great design, make limited use of software, and are difficult and stressful to adopt. We are building a next generation, beautifully designed, AI optimized home heating and cooling system that is 10x better than what is on the market today.

Our founders recently left Google, where they had highly successful careers across engineering, design, and product management. We are backed by some of the best climate tech and AI investors in the world.

Quilt is looking for a customer-obsessed product manager to join our team as the company’s first product hire. This is a critical role for the company. You’ll get the chance to work closely with Quilt’s founders as well as senior engineering and design leaders.

We are building a better, all-electric heating and cooling system for the home, as well as a dramatically improved purchase and installation experience. This role will focus on that purchase and installation experience, covering all aspects of adoption from awareness to financing and rebates through post-installation service. This is an opportunity to solve real customer and installer partner challenges, create world class industry-leading experiences, and accelerate adoption of heat pump technology in homes. You’ll work closely with Quilt’s design, engineering and customer experience teams to craft software used by customers and installers.

Qualifications

    • 3-7 years of product management experience, preferably with experience in consumer e- commerce experiences with complex workflows.
    • Obsession with customer experience: demonstrated experience and passion for understanding customer segments, mindsets and needs, and supporting the engineering and design teams in solving their problems.
    • Being an excellent communicator. You are able to listen carefully and tailor communications across a range of audiences from customers and installer partners to engineers and designers.
    • Demonstrated ability to use quantitative analysis and metrics alongside qualitative and first-principles focused reasoning to build products that both solve problems and delight
    • Unafraid to get your hands dirty, get things done yourself, and wear many hats.
    • Experience working with 0 to 1 new products and launches
    • Genuine mission alignment around climate and decarbonization.
    • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.

Responsibilities

    • Drive the roadmap and development of Quilt’s purchase and installation software platform with an eye toward the full Quilt customer experience.
    • Lead website product development for Quilt’s upcoming product launch, working closely with our marketing, software and design teams.
    • Think deeply and broadly about the full customer journey from awareness through system design, financing and payment, and post-purchase service.
    • Spend time regularly with customers and installer partners, including on-site at homes, to understand their needs and develop a strong intuition for how to prioritize and solve problems.
    • Work closely with Quilt’s customer experience, design and engineering team to design software that delivers a fantastic customer experience and reduces wasted time and cost.
    • Define metrics and success criteria for the customer adoption journey.
    • Define data architectures that ensure a consistent experience for customers across every touchpoint they have with Quilt.
